How to Reach Badrinath & Kedarnath from Haridwar
By Air
The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, located about 310 km from Badrinath and 240 km from Kedarnath (Gaurikund). From Haridwar, travelers can reach the airport by road. From Dehradun, the journey continues by road via Rishikesh, Joshimath, or Guptkashi. Helicopter services for Kedarnath are also available from select helipads as part of the yatra arrangements.
By Train
Haridwar Railway Station is the main railhead for the Badrinath Kedarnath Yatra. It is well connected to major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow. From Haridwar, onward travel to Badrinath and Kedarnath is completed by road using vehicles included in the tour package.
By Road
Badrinath and Kedarnath are well connected by road from Haridwar via Rishikesh, Devprayag, Joshimath, and Guptkashi. Regular state-run buses, private taxis, and tempo travellers operate on this route, offering a scenic journey through the Himalayan terrain. Kedarnath is reached from Gaurikund by trek or helicopter.

The best time to undertake the Badrinath Kedarnath Yatra from Haridwar is May to June and September to October, when weather conditions are favorable and temple routes are open.

Day 1: Haridwar – Guptkashi
Welcome arrival at Haridwar/Dehradun/Rishikesh. Meet our represntative and proceed for Guptkashi. On arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi/Sitapur town. Dinner and Overnight stay in Guptkashi/Sitapur hotel/Camps.
Day 2: Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath
Early morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Sonprayag. From where, you will start your 20 km trek to Kedarnath. You can hire a Doli or a horse, for your trek (Cost Not Included). Badrinath Kedarnath Yatra from Haridwar , Mandakini, one of the main tributaries of the Ganges originates at Kedarnath and flows through Gaurikund.
Trudging with you are pilgrims chanting “Jai Bholenath“. Sometimes the mist would envelop the mountains and slowly lift away, revealing a shiny blinding – white peak that threatens to rupture the skies. On arrival check in at Govt. Camps/Lodges.Dinner and Overnight at Govt. Camps/Lodges.
Day 3: Kedarnath – Phata – Chamoli/Pipalkoti
Early morning you get up before dawn and after taking bath you are at the temple by4:45 am for the “Abhishek” to Kedarnath Shiva. Everyone can go inside Garbha Griha and touch the idol. You can also prostrate with your head touching the deity etc.
After darshan and puja you come out of the temple and return to the Govt. Camps / Lodges. Later you will start the return trek of 20 km from Kedarnath to Sonprayag. The vehicles wait for you in Sonprayag Car Parking and you will drive to Pipalkoti. Dinner and Overnight at Pipalkoti.
